They've got "the best spot" on Kaanapali Beach say fans of this "comfortable" chainster with a "superb location" at Black Rock where you "can snorkel from the beach", enjoy "awesome sunsets" from a "quiet" stretch of sand and be "within walking distance" of many restaurants at Whalers Village; though some say the "small" rooms are strictly "standard", a staff that's "willing to help with anything" makes up for it; N.B. a new spa opened in 2008.

The grounds were beautiful, great location right on the beach, very nice beach for swimming/snorkeling.
In the ocean front rooms, the balconies are so close together that you can see your neighbors without trying very hard, so not much privacy there.

We liked this hotel for its beauty and beach location. We did not like the fact that we requested a king bed and ended up with two double beds the first night. They did however, upgrade us the second and third night to an ocean front room with the king size bed. It was very nice. The bathrooms could have been more lux, perhaps a larger tub and separate shower or just a larger bathroom in general. ...read more

Excellent location.
$26 a day resort fee for stuff that you don't use.

Great location on the beach with some of the best snorkeling in Maui on Black Rock. Rooms are fine. Staff is generally nice, but a little standoffish. Allowed to use the Westin pool facility which is much nicer than the Sheraton's and is only a short walk away. ...read more

The location of this hotel on the beach was stunning.
I did not like being asked to pay $26.00/day on top of the priceline fee

The Sheraton has a beautiful location, friendly staff and is well taken care of. But as a "luxury resort" hotel, it falls slightly short. For example, using paper and plastic plates for food at their patio/pool restaurant is disappointing, especially since it is frequently windy and the dishes blow away! The staff was attentive, the property was delightful and the room was nice. The bathroom and storage were a little small. We liked everything about this hotel and would stay here again.
